1. **My character:** I’m Emily Williams — content marketer, librarian, writer, human, female.

2. **My work:** I do knowledge and information management and writing both personaly and professionally. Everything is information. I find looking at the world through this lens fascinating.

**3. My why: **The universe is chaotic and unorganized. Organizing and cataloging it helps me make sense of things. Creating, building, and writing are potential paths to living beyond my lifetime.

4. My quest: What I care about most is making knowledge accessible, perserving the things worth saving, and learning as much as I can during the time that I have here.

This year, I’m going to ship something besides just a website.

I’m a writer and librarian though, so a website is a must (for now.)

Big Content Energy was a placeholder name for a project I decided to start during COVID. I bought the website domain for ten years.

I didn’t know what I was going to build, I just knew I wanted to do something for fun on the side.

When I finally got around to building, I had lost access due to hacking and a merger and acquisition.

It might not be a usable product for the masses, but this portfolio is MY Product. And I earned the domain name, not just by buying it. By fighting for it when it was taken from me. I did the Vogon paperwork. I kept trying.

And I will always keep trying even if it’s something silly like a website, that I fucking own. That I can say whatever I want on.
