I have 3 things for this Monday:
- Halo
- Abstinence
- Staying positive in difficult situations (just get really curious)
Halo
I played Halo Guardians campaign this weekend. It was okay. I remember enjoying it a lot more. Online play is better ofc, but the storyline was severely lacking. Cortana's "logic" makes no sense. Found it the opposite of entertaining. Despite all that, my son joined me and we took turns playing the campaign. It was exciting that he wanted to play it and enjoyed it. Made me super happy to spend time with him and him engaging in cooperative play.
Usually he just wants to play ROBLOX or Minecraft, neither of which I enjoy. We game together sometimes (mainly a platformer or a racing game.)
On top of that, it was a gift for me to even be able to play (and finish the campaign.)
It was a big deal for me to be able to play a FPS. In the past 5 years, I wasn't able to enjoy or play first-person shooters at all -- difficulty concentrating and it would cause sensory overload for me and also (this part is wild) actual physical pain. How cool it is to be able to game again and play games I like.
Abstinence
I'm abstinent from a few things lately.
Purposefully not dating, but curious about how I might approach that since I find the dating apps also severely restrictive and overwhelming. I'd love to do a small group activity and meet someone organically (or not, maybe just make some friends.) Future plans.
I am also Cali-sober for a few months now, and mostly Paleo diet for a few weeks. Can already see a significant drop in body fat. Still hitting the gym hard, but today, REST!
Looking on the Bright Side
I drove out to see Starship. It was a twenty hour drive (one-way.) It was severely difficult, but I did FSD the entire time so that helped quite a bit. I felt ROUGH when I got home. Achy, lots of pain. Got some interesting views, and a ton of work done. I thought it was kind of crazy that I had Starlink and was able to get actual projects done while my car drove me across the country. WIld times. Also weird to be supervising Claude and FSD at the same time whilst driving. Bummed I didn't get to HEAR and FEEL it launch, however, how cool that it had a soft landing a week later. Super cool.
When I got home and listened to the video I took of Starship about to go off and it sounds like someone is repeating the phrase "You're Not Welcome Here" on the audio. Also wild! I'm curious how you put information on top of recordings through infrasound or other methods and why someone would do that. (It was not audible at the location, but it was also very windy.)
There's no logical reason why I would not be welcome, maybe the message was for someone else, and it's not difficult to manipulate digital media at all. So weird! It's been uncanny valley for so long, I guess I'm just interested in learning what it is and why it's happening when things are so weird like that. Where did the signal come from and who sent it? And WHY?
Some of the fun easter eggs I found on the drive and at home:
- There's a skyscraper in downtown Atlanta that looks like it's got a Starship on top of it. Took while driving in traffic (FSD). Very cool architecture. Love the torch, and then also the Horse in the logo.
- Isla Tours "Murphy's Law" boat
- A JEST (Tesla font at Supercharger next to a Godfather's Pizza [lol] backwards in glass looks like it spells AJEST.)
- Someone flashed their brights at me at just the right time and I got a selfie with "Godfather's AZZ" in another reflection.
- My hotel room keys were mostly uneventful, but I did get both room 420 and room 404 on separate nights.
- I spelled AI with my TRX on accident when I moved it out of the way while cleaning up.
I have so much more from my trip. I wrote a ton while I was driving. It's my raw stream of consciousness though, so it's a bit much to just paste as-is.

Other thoughts for today: This is a test of the WYSIWYG editor so I imagine there are probably a lot of things missing (like the edit button for example.)
Treating as a learning experience (always.) Forgive me if there's something I can do better. First draft does not have to be beautiful, but it'd be nice if it was. Stay tuned.
